Julian McPhee
Managing Director & Principal Consultant
With his career in the construction industry now surpassing 20 years, Julian has maintained his passion for the built form through his hands-on approach and the good fortune of having worked across a wide variety of interesting and challenging construction projects.
After completing a Bachelor of Construction Management with First Class Honours, Julian's career commenced as an estimator with a small Geelong based residential builder.
Following two years of construction estimating, Julian sought to further his career overseas, travelling to the UK and commencing Quantity Surveying roles for a large residential developer and a mains services infrastructure contractor within the city of London.
Upon his return to Australia, Julian spent several years undertaking Project Management for a large residential contractor, successfully delivering many architecturally designed homes, medium density apartment buildings and aged care facilities.
Seeking to further his experience in other facets of construction, Julian commenced work for a National (Tier 3) commercial contractor, advancing his knowledge and skills on commercial, retail and industrial builds, including projects awarded Professional Excellence in Building by the Australian Institute of Building.
Following his appointment as Construction Manager of Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania, Julian led a team of skilled construction professionals, with a focus on the further strengthening of business relationships with long term, national clients.
Now the Managing Director and Principal Consultant of JPM Building Solutions, Julian works collaboratively with his clients, sharing his experience, detailed knowledge of construction and implementing his meticulous and methodical approach on every task that he undertakes. Julian is a highly skilled communicator and understands that project success lies equally in effective, clear and reliable communication with the client and key stakeholders.
